DEOCA - IlSung joint venture wins Khe Net railway tunnels contract

A joint venture of DEOCA Group and IlSung recently won a 552 billion VND (22.76 million USD) contract for the construction of two railway tunnels on the Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City railway line.

The package is part of the Khe Net Pass Rehabilitation Project, located in Tuyen Hoa District in the central province of Quang Binh.

Specifically, Tunnel 1 has a length of 620 metres and is anticipated to be completed within 23 months, while Tunnel 2 spans 393m and is expected to be constructed in 13.5 months. Both tunnels are ten metres wide.

The project is expected to cut travel time, improve railway infrastructure, and ensure safe and smooth traffic on the Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City railway line.

DEOCA has been engaged in the construction of many expressways in Vietnam, such as Cam Lam - Vinh Hao, Dong Dang - Tra Linh and Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon.

For its part, IlSung has built major highways and tunnels in the Republic of Korea as well as participating in a project to renovate bridges on national highways in Vietnam.
