The institute's establishment marks the result of a collaboration between the university and the business entity aimed at providing timely training and developing a skilled workforce to meet the demands of the modern workforce and the application of advanced technology.

The DCI Institute was formed by leveraging the strengths of both entities. With over 35 years of experience providing high-quality human resources training for the transportation and logistics sector, UTH boasts a team of highly qualified experts with extensive experience, a vast network of local and international partnerships, and continuously improving infrastructure.

On the other hand, the Deo Ca Group, with more than 38 years of experience in infrastructure development, is one of Vietnam's leading investors in transportation infrastructure. Deo Ca Group has an advisory board comprising prominent politicians, leading experts from various fields, and a competent team of managers, engineers, and skilled workers who have completed numerous domestic projects and are prepared to expand internationally through collaborations with foreign enterprises.

The DCI Institute's objectives include conducting in-depth research activities, receiving and transferring new and sustainable technologies in the field of construction and transportation infrastructure in Vietnam, providing highly trained personnel with practical knowledge and skills to meet the needs of businesses and organisations operating in the building and transportation infrastructure sector, and offering policy advice and development strategies for technology and infrastructure in Vietnam'sVietnam's transportation sector.

Director of Vietnam Road Administration Nguyen Xuan Cuong shared and discussed the discussion.

In addition to providing scientific and technological services related to transportation and logistics, the Deo Ca Research and Training Institute will serve as a hub for organising seminars, addressing policy issues, addressing workforce shortages, and improving training facilities. It will collaborate with the government and relevant ministries to recommend policy changes.

"Mr Le Quynh Mai, Vice Chairman of the Deo Ca Group's Board of Directors and Vice Director of the DCI Institute, stated that in the future, the DCI Institute will have a diverse team of lecturers, including experienced experts from both domestic and international backgrounds. Through strategic connections, it aims to create a chain of services for the development of the transportation sector. The DCI Institute will focus on four main tasks: providing practical, hands-on training to ensure that graduates are job-ready; conducting scientific research and applying construction technology; offering technology consulting and project implementation; and fostering international collaboration with large global enterprises by seeking, screening, and importing training programmes and new technologies that are suitable for Vietnam'sVietnam's conditions".

Shortly, the Institute will invest in and establish critical laboratory facilities for the transportation sector, including conducting specialised experiments that have not been carried out in Vietnam, such as wind tunnels, earthquake simulations, and large-scale structures like cable-stayed bridges and suspension bridges, and exploring new materials. These facilities will serve the research activities of the Institute, the Deo Ca Group, and other partners in need.

With the motto "Knowledge Creates Value" and a strategic focus on networking to create a chain of services for the development of the transportation sector, the Deo Ca Research and Training Institute aspires to become a reputable provider of scientific and technological services in the field of transportation and logistics in both the domestic and regional contexts. It aims to further promote the scientific research activities of UTH and technology transfer in the future, particularly in anticipation of the trend of urban railway and high-speed rail system construction in Vietnam and the emergence of new technologies in the field of transport infrastructure.
