The Council for higher education quality accreditation under the Ministry of Education and Training voted yes to the University of Transport for reaching higher education quality after it was surveyed to meet 51/61 criteria, accounting for nearly 84% of the total criteria in the survey period from November 2015.
The Transport University has passed ten standards with 61 different criteria to earn the quality certificate related to all areas of a university including mission, objectives, training programme, management teams, lecturers, scientific research, international co-operation, and financial management among others.
The certificate is valid for five years which is considered one of the conditions to classify and rank universities in Vietnam.
According to Director of the Transport University Tran Dac Su, the most important aspect of the education quality assessment was that the accredited university could receive objective and detailed recommendations to find solutions to its weaknesses to improve training quality and to boost international integration.
The Centre for Education Quality Accreditation under the VNU was the first accreditation centre licensed by the Ministry of Education and Training in November 2014, marking a milestone in the history of Vietnamese higher education and in the field of quality assurance and quality accreditation in Vietnam.
More than 30 universities nationwide have so far registered to verify their quality at this centre.
