The government official said that the airport is an important project, requiring relevant agencies to quickly commence the construction of runways and passenger terminals in the 2024-2025 period.

Delegates all agreed on the expansion of the airport to serve up to 100 million passengers per year by 2050. However, one of the biggest difficulties in expanding the airport is land clearance.

The Deputy PM said that with the rapid recovery and growth of the aviation industry, the reception of 50 million passengers per year by 2030 is entirely possible. If the airport does not receive investment in time, it could lead to overloading and congestion.

He emphasised that the airport must be modernised and upgraded, thus demonstrating the position of the country.

He also asked ministries, sectors and localities to closely coordinate with each other and reach consensus on the location and expansion of the airport so as to soon complete and approve the plans.

The Deputy PM asked relevant ministries and sectors to urgently perform their assigned tasks to commence construction of runways and passenger terminals in the 2024-2025 period.
