Organised by the Global Vietnam-Japan Cultural Promotion Organisation (VJCP) in collaboration with leading Vietnamese associations and multicultural organisations in Japan, the festival is held under the patronage of the Vietnamese Consulate General in Osaka, the Higashiosaka City Government, Osaka Tourism Bureau, and Vietnam’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
The event is expected to draw an audience of around 150,000. It will feature performances by renowned Vietnamese artists including Tung Duong, Isaac, and Duyen Quynh, alongside community-based groups and young artists based in Japan.
With the theme “50 Years Beating as One”, the festival will open with a ceremony on the morning of May 3, attended by officials from both countries and thousands of spectators. Later that day, the concert “Vietnam Today” will showcase contemporary performances led by singer Isaac, highlighting the spirit of modern Vietnam.

Singer Tung Duong is set to deliver a debut performance in Japan |
On May 4, the spotlight will shift to the main concert, “50 Years Beating as One”, featuring two acts: “Vietnam – Aspiration for Peace” and “Vietnam – Reaching the World”. Tung Duong is set to deliver a debut performance in Japan, with a repertoire spanning patriotic classics and contemporary hits.
A highlight of the festival will be the “Ten Thousand National Flags” campaign. Since March, the organisers have shipped 10,000 Vietnamese flags to Japan for free distribution to festivalgoers. A mass waving of flags during live performances is expected to create a moving visual tribute to national pride on the grounds of Hanazono Park — a space 1.5 times the size of My Dinh Stadium.
According to chief director Huy Lio, the initiative aims to unite the overseas Vietnamese community in a shared expression of love for their homeland, commemorating a historic milestone in Vietnam’s journey toward peace and prosperity.
