The event series was announced at a press conference held in Ha Noi on September 10, organised by the German Business Association in Viet Nam (GBA) in coordination with the German Industry and Commerce in Viet Nam (AHK Viet Nam) and JW Marriott Hotel Ha Noi.

Now entering its 34th season in Viet Nam, the festival continues to expand in scale while attracting growing interest, becoming the largest German beer festival in Southeast Asia. This year, the festival will once again provide an opportunity to introduce distinctive aspects of German cultural life to Vietnamese audiences and international friends.

Oktoberfest is a beer festival originating in Bavaria, a southern German state, and is associated with community culture, folk music, cuisine, and hospitality. Since it was first held in Viet Nam in 1992, the festival has been maintained as a space where the German and Vietnamese communities and international friends can meet up to enjoy and learn about distinctive German customs and flavours.

After more than three decades, GBA Oktoberfest Viet Nam has become one of the most anticipated annual events, while also creating an additional channel for community cultural exchange.

The organising committee said that in 2025, GBA Oktoberfest Viet Nam attracted more than 11,000 visitors and served more than 25,000 litres of beer, demonstrating the appeal of a cultural festival model built around a combination of culinary experiences, entertainment, and community exchange.

Speaking at the press conference, GBA Chairman Alexander Ziehe said that GBA Oktoberfest has long been more than simply a festival; it also acts as a vibrant bridge connecting the German and Vietnamese communities, while fostering meaningful relationships among businesses, partners, and friends.

With more than 430 members and partners in the Vietnamese market, GBA is one of the largest foreign business associations in Viet Nam and a trusted partner of the domestic business community.

At the 2026 festival, the Bavarian spirit will continue to be showcased through performances by the German-Austrian band O’zapft, distinctive German dishes prepared by an experienced team of chefs, and premium beers imported from Germany. Alongside beer, the festival will offer a wide range of non-alcoholic beverages to meet the diverse needs of attendees. Through these offerings, visitors can experience German culture through multiple senses, from the flavours of the dishes and the sound of German-Austrian melodies to the lively and open atmosphere that is characteristic of Oktoberfest.

Björn Koslowski, Deputy Chief Representative of AHK Viet Nam, said that GBA Oktoberfest has grown over the years to become an event reflecting the diverse relationship between Germany and Viet Nam.

In Ha Noi, the festival is co-organised by GBA, AHK Viet Nam, and JW Marriott Hotel Ha Noi, under the auspices of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Ha Noi and the Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Ho Chi Minh City.

GBA Oktoberfest Viet Nam 2026 will take place in Ho Chi Minh City from September 24 to 26, in Da Nang on October 2, and in Ha Noi from October 8 to 10.
