The businessmen, who were from the six provinces of Dien Bien, Lai Chau, Son La, Hoa Binh, Phu Tho, and Tuyen Quang, visited Dien Bien to provide financial support for needy households.
Chairman of Dien Bien Provincial Business Association Bui Duc Giang said that the Business Association of six Northwest provinces donated 500 million VND to build houses for two policy beneficiary families in Nam Thanh Ward, Dien Bien Phu City, and in Thanh Yen Commune, Dien Bien District.
At the meeting, Le Thanh Do, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Dien Bien Province, briefed the guests about the socio-economic development situation of Dien Bien Province. Do noted that the province posted a GRDP of over 3 trillion VND in the first quarter of 2024, up 6% over the same period last year, and ranked fourth among 14 provinces in the northern midland and mountainous region.
In particular, the province attracted 440,600 visitors in the first three months of this year, 1.46 times higher than the same period in 2023.
With diverse activities in celebration of the National Tourism Year – Dien Bien and the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory, the province is expected to receive more visitors and investors in the coming time.
Le Thanh Do expressed his thanks to the Business Association of six Northwest provinces for seconding Dien Bien in campaigns on supporting needy people and policy beneficiaries.
