Dien Bien District’s Culture, Sports and Tourism Festival features various activities

The 10th Culture, Sports and Tourism Festival of Ethnic Minority Groups in Dien Bien District was launched at the Thanh Ban Phu national cultural and historical relic site in Dien Bien District, the Northern province of Dien Bien on April 1.

Running until April 3, the festival will feature various attractive activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory and respond to the National Tourism Year – Dien Bien 2024.

More than 500 artisans, artists, and athletes from 21 communes in Dien Bien District are participating in the event.

Visitors will have a chance to experience mass art performances, ethnic costume performances, folk dances, folk games, local agricultural and OCOP products, ethnic cuisine, and more.

This year’s festival will also see the performances by artisans and artists from other provinces including Bac Giang, Hoa Binh, and Thai Nguyen.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Nong Van Thang, Vice Chairman of Dien Bien District People’s Committee, said that the festival has been held annually since 2012 with the aim of preserving and promoting the cultural values and traditional sports games of 11 ethnic groups in the district.
