Digital exhibition held in Laos to commemorates President Ho Chi Minh’s 136th birth anniversary

The Vietnamese Embassy in Laos on May 8 organised a digital exhibition commemorating the 136th birth anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 - 2026); and a conference to inform the public about the results of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Viet Nam and the results of the 16th National Assembly elections.

With the theme “President Ho Chi Minh - The Quintessence of the Nation, the Stature of the Era,” the digital exhibition included nearly 300 valuable images, documents, and materials about President Ho Chi Minh.

Through images, historical documents, and authentic stories, the exhibition vividly recreated the revolutionary life of President Ho Chi Minh, while profoundly portraying his humanist ideology, revolutionary ethics, and simple, noble lifestyle—values that have, are, and will continue to illuminate the path of Vietnam's development in the new era.

At the conference, delegates watched the documentary film entitled “Party Congresses - From Difficulties to Great Victories.” Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos Nguyen Minh Tam directly informed the Lao delegates about the results of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Viet Nam and the results of the 16th National Assembly elections, emphasising the importance of these two strategically significant events for Viet Nam’s development in the new period.

Ambassador Nguyen Minh Tam emphasised the achievements of the 13th National Congress in various fields: socio-economic development, national defence and security, foreign affairs; Party building and rectification, and the political system; clearly outlining five lessons learned, along with opportunities and challenges for Viet Nam in the coming period, thereby highlighting areas requiring breakthroughs in development thinking, as well as innovation in leadership and implementation.

The Ambassador also provided information on development goals for the 2026-2030 period and a vision to 2045, highlighting the Congress’ motto: “Unity-Democracy-Discipline-Breakthrough-Development”; on the overall goals, guiding principles, major orientations, and decisive breakthroughs.

On this occasion, the Ambassador also provided important information on Viet Nam's foreign policy in the new era, especially the principles, guidelines, and major orientations in foreign relations; particularly the new content in the foreign policy and the key tasks to be implemented in the coming period.

The delegates also visited a photo exhibition themed “Viet Nam-Laos Strategic Bonding”. Featuring nearly 200 photos, the exhibition contributed to spreading the message of strategic bonding between the two nations to a wide audience of international friends and the Vietnamese community in Laos, aiming to continue maintaining and developing the great friendship and strategic bond between Viet Nam and Laos, ensuring it remains ever-lasting and enduring.
