The concrete-reinforced Hoa An bridge is built under the Built-Transfer (BT) form at a total cost of VND1.174 trillion (US$55 million). It measures 1.3 kilometres long and 16.5 metres wide and offers four lanes for traffic users to travel between Bien Hoa and Ho Chi Minh City.

The two other construction tasks are part of an investment project to build the new Dong Nai Bridge totalling over VND485 billion (US$22.8). The four-lane tunnel is due for completion in eight months’ time, while the four-lane, 16m-wide overpass is set to be completed within six months.

Addressing the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai considered the projects of great importance in modernising transport infrastructure and linking dynamic development areas in Ho Chi Minh City and the southeast region.

The facilities would contribute significantly to easing traffic congestion and reducing accidents in a region with high travel density, and help improve the investment environment and boost socio-economic development in Dong Nai and southern economic hubs, he said.

Deputy PM Hai urged the locality and investors to make best use of the Hoa An Bridge, while mobilising all resources to finish the tunnel and flyover works on schedule, with their quality ensured.
