Kanagawa Festival to be held in Hanoi

Hanoi's residents will have the opportunity to explore many aspects of Japanese culture this weekend, such as traditional clothing, Yosakoi dance performances, and a model of a tea house on a hill.

The Kanagawa Festival 2024 is an annual cultural exchange event aimed at implementing the cooperation programme between the Hanoi People's Committee and the Kanagawa Prefecture Government (Japan).

The festival is scheduled for November 16-17, around Ba Kieu Temple Garden and the pedestrian space around Hoan Kiem Lake.

This year's Kanagawa Festival will feature many activities, including performances by famous Japanese singers, a Japanese karaoke competition, Yosakoi dance performances, Japanese cultural experience games, Yukata traditional costume presentations, a cosplay competition, the promotion of destinations in Japan, a re-creation of a tea house on a hill, the introduction of Kanagawa's cuisine, and 25 booths displaying products.

The organisers will also set up a famous Torii gate and cherry blossom trees – symbols of Japanese culture – at the festival space.

The Kanagawa Festival in Hanoi 2024 is an opportunity for Hanoi residents and visitors to experience and explore the unique cultural aspects of Japan through many cultural and artistic activities. It is also a chance to learn about fascinating tourist attractions and distinctive Japanese cultural customs.

Kanagawa is one of Japan's largest prefectures, located right next to the capital of Tokyo. Kanagawa is home to the famous city of Yokohama. Hanoi has always placed great importance on promoting cultural exchange activities between the city and various regions of Japan, particularly Kanagawa.
