The event was hosted by the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade, in partnership with the Vietnamese commercial mission in Singapore, the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCCI), and the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI).

The conference saw the participation of more than 100 enterprises from Hanoi and Singapore in the fields of manufacturing, electronics, IT, food, garments, banking, finance, property, logistics, and pharmaceuticals.

In his remarks, Hanoi Vice Chairman Nguyen Manh Quyen stated that Singapore is currently a strategic investor in Hanoi, primarily in property trading, construction, hospitality and catering services, technology, education and so on.

Singapore has so far invested a total of 11.4 billion USD into the Vietnamese capital city. The figure for 2022 was 616 million USD.

Singapore is also an established export market of Hanoi, accounting for 3.6% of its total export revenue. In 2022, Hanoi exported 615 million USD worth of goods to Singapore, mainly machinery and equipment, timber and timber products, electronic parts, and computers.

Quyen said the connecting event would facilitate both sides to explore new cooperation opportunities in industry, trade, and services.

He expected that through the event Hanoi and Singapore enterprises will step up cooperation and become trusted and sustainable partners in the future.

For his part, SCCCI President Kho Choon Keng stated that SCCCI is a large organisation in Singapore with membership of over 5,000 enterprises and associations, and that this working trip was joined by over 30 major Singaporean companies looking for cooperation with Hanoi enterprises.
