Exhibition honours former President’s contributions to national development

More than 3,000 images and many artefacts highlighting the activities of former President Nguyen Minh Triet, during the 2006-2011 period, are on display at an exhibition which officially opened on December 20 in Thu Dau Mot City, in the southern province of Binh Duong.

The opening ceremony was attended by former President Nguyen Minh Triet, among leaders and former leaders of Binh Duong Province.

The exhibits recalled the former President’s diplomatic activities, chairmanship and attendance of APEC meetings and meetings with Overseas Vietnamese and people around the world, as well as working visits to localities.

These are important milestones associated with former President Triet’s career, which have great significance in both foreign and home affairs, contributing to affirming Vietnam’s position in the region and the world.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, the President of Binh Duong Provincial People’s Committee Vo Van Minh said, that the display of precious souvenirs and images related to Nguyen Minh Triet, aims to form a “red address” to promote patriotism among people, especially younger generations.

The exhibition is also expected to show the gratitude of the provincial Party Committee, authorities and people, to the former President’s great contributions to the country in general and Binh Duong in particular.
