The Overseas Vietnamese (OV) community at Sadovod Shopping Centre in Moscow, Russia, kicked off the Sadovod Football League 2023 on May 3.
Football tournament kicks off for Overseas Vietnamese in Russia

The event aims to celebrate the 133rd birth anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh while promoting sporting activities among the OV community in Russia.

Running until the end of May, the tournament has attracted the participation of six teams, competing in a round-robin format.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Minister Counsellor Le Quang Anh at the Vietnamese Embassy in Russia said that the football tournament proves that OVs at Sadovod Shopping Centre are not only good at doing businesses and participating in charity activities but also take the lead in sports movements, thus promoting the good traditions of the Vietnamese people in Russia.

For his part, Alexey Negashev, a representative of Sadovod Shopping Centre, expressed his impression on the Vietnamese people's working spirit and health training.

He hailed that the Overseas Vietnamese community in Russia has always enthusiastically participated in cultural and sports movements, including football tournaments.
