The event, co-organised by the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organisations and the Lao Embassy in Vietnam, aims to promote the land, people, and cultural identities of ASEAN member countries.

In his opening speech, Nguyen Manh Quyen, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi Municipal People's Committee, stressed that promoting friendship, cooperation and regional connectivity in ASEAN is always viewed as one of the priorities of Vietnam's foreign policy.

He stated that Vietnam will do its utmost to build more cohesive and stronger ASEAN, while strengthening friendship and cooperation among member countries at both bilateral and multilateral levels in a stronger and more effective manner.

For her part, Lao Ambassador Khamphao Ernthavanh hailed Vietnam’s active contribution to shaping the future of the region, motivating other ASEAN member states in the protection of independence and freedom, economic development, and the preservation of cultural values and heritage.
