The deputy prime minister affirmed that Vietnam always attaches great importance to and gives the highest priority to the special Viet Nam–Laos relationship. He stressed that Viet Nam would continue to stand alongside and support Laos in building an independent and self-reliant economy and developing human resources and a high-quality cadre workforce. He also proposed that the two sides further strengthen connectivity between their economies, particularly in infrastructure, transport, energy, trade, and investment, for the tangible benefit of the peoples of both countries.
Deputy Minister Anouparb Vongnorkeo expressed his sincere gratitude for the friendship, valuable support and selfless assistance that the Party, State, and people of Viet Nam have extended to Laos during its past struggle for national liberation as well as in its current efforts to safeguard, build, and develop the country. He affirmed that, in the process of building an independent and self-reliant economy, Laos hopes to continue receiving close cooperation from Viet Nam.
The two sides agreed to maintain close coordination and make the best possible preparations for upcoming high-level diplomatic activities, beginning with the visit of senior Lao leaders to attend the third ASEAN Future Forum. They also agreed to effectively implement key bilateral cooperation mechanisms, increase exchanges of high-level and other delegations, strengthen coordination and mutual support at regional and international forums, and continue making breakthroughs in economic, trade, and investment cooperation.
On the same day, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc chaired a working session with the Viet Nam Textile and Apparel Association and the Vietnam Leather, Footwear and Handbag Association.
The deputy prime minister emphasised that the government and ministries would continue to accompany businesses, promptly addressing difficulties, obstacles, and reasonable recommendations raised by the two associations and their member enterprises without delay.
Regarding future development orientations, Pham Gia Tuc called on the two associations and their member enterprises to formulate development plans suited to the context of deep international integration and the current global situation, with the aim of achieving double-digit growth, expanding exports, improving working conditions and workers’ livelihoods, and contributing to the overall growth of localities and the country as a whole.
