The event, held from September 3 to 5 in Tokyo, covered 300,000m², brought together almost 3,000 exhibitors from 40 countries and territories, and attracted around 50,000 visitors, including major international importers.
The Ha Noi pavilion featured lacquerware, ceramics, bamboo and rattan products, embroidery and silk from traditional craft villages across the capital’s suburbs. Over three days, the pavilion welcomed about 2,500 visitors and buyers, offering opportunities for direct trade negotiations and business connections.
For participating enterprises such as Hoang Minh Ceramics Co., Ltd. from Bat Trang Village, the fair not only helped promote traditional products but also opened doors to new partnerships and export opportunities. Company representatives stressed that TGIS provides a valuable platform to raise brand awareness and preserve cultural heritage while tapping into high-end markets like Japan.
Beyond product promotion, the trip also served diplomatic and trade promotion goals. Ha Noi officials held working sessions with the TGIS organisers to strengthen cooperation and invited Japanese and international businesses to attend the Ha Noi Gift Show 2025, scheduled for October. Since 2018, Ha Noi and TGIS have established a partnership to cross-promote their events, regarded as an effective channel to attract foreign buyers, especially from Japan.
The city views participation in TGIS 2025 as a key step to boost competitiveness, expand exports to Japan, and elevate the global profile of Vietnamese handicrafts.
