The new factory brings the company's total investment in Vietnam to US$45 million.
Built on an area of 84,553 square metres, the new plant has recruited 2,000 employees, and is expected to hire 5,500 to 6,000 local residents once it becomes fully operational.
With an annual manufacturing capacity of more than 67 million products, the facility will focus on producing and processing garment products, especially bras and woven boxers, two new products in Vietnam.
Having entered the country in 2007, Hanesbrands Vietnam has set up two production hubs in the northern Hung Yen and central Thua Thien-Hue provinces, with a total capacity of producing 400 million products per year.
