The team bagged 58 gold, 47 silver and 56 bronze medals, followed by Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang.
The event attracted nearly 1,300 players, from 53 teams across the country.
The participating players vie for medals in four categories of traditional, rapid, blitz and standard chess, in individual and team events, for ten age groups between U6 and U20.
Held jointly by the Vietnam Chess Federation and the Bac Giang Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the championships aimed to select outstanding young players to compete in international events in the coming year.
