This was one of the meaningful activities held to honour the martyrs and wounded soldiers who sacrificed their blood for the cause of national liberation, and for the peace and freedom of the Fatherland.
The delegation visited, presented gifts and awarded certificates of commendation in recognition of the contributions of families with relatives who are war invalids and martyrs, including Le Dinh Binh, Nguyen Hong Lien, and Nguyen Huy Thang. Each visit was deeply emotional.
At the home of Le Dinh Binh, the delegation offered incense in remembrance of Martyr Le Dinh Vuong. The most moving moment came during the visit to the family of Nguyen Thi Hong Lien, where in addition to paying tribute to Martyr Nguyen Nho Thong and Heroic Vietnamese Mother Ho Thi Ba, the delegation also met four siblings who are children of the martyr: Nguyen Mai Hoa, Nguyen Thi Thanh Ngoc, Nguyen Thi Nhu, and Nguyen Van Thang. All of them are living and working in what they call their second homeland.
At the home of Nguyen Huy Thang, everyone solemnly gathered around an altar respectfully arranged in front of the portraits of seven martyrs, listening with deep admiration to the stories of their brave and resilient fighting spirit and heroic sacrifices. Nguyen Huy Thang himself is a war invalid from the resistance against the US. He is a veteran who fought on the Quang Ngai Front.
On behalf of the Embassy, Minister Counsellor Chu Tuan Duc expressed sincere thanks to the families and the Vietnamese Veterans Association in the Federal Republic of Germany for taking the time to welcome the delegation. He affirmed that the Party and State always remember and appreciate the soldiers who scarified for the cause of national reunification and defence.
