The company’s success in production and business comes from the collective strength under the guidance of the leadership board, especially the direct leadership of Deputy General Director Nguyen Thi Hien. In the past seven years with Hien at the helm, she and her team have stimulated the growth of Ca Mau Fertilizer, turning it into a household name among farmers all over the country.
The company's distribution system spans the entire country and is closely linked to an extensive dealer network. Drastically directing the digitalisation of the sales segment and creating 2Nong app for farmers, Hien is an energetic leader who has been focusing on professionalising each step in the production and distribution process as well as improving business quality and providing good after-sales service.
In terms of exports, the company has reached the milestone of selling 1 million tonnes of products and maintained key markets in ASEAN such as Cambodia and Thailand while expanding to the Indian market and successfully penetrating other difficult markets including France, Peru, Mexico, the US and South America.
In just a decade, the company increased its revenue from 6 trillion VND to 16 trillion VND, thanks to effective production and business, in addition to stable and sustainable growth in brand value. This is a leap that not every business can achieve. In 2022 alone, the Deputy General Director made efforts to promote every opportunity, no matter how small, to boost export effectively, contributing to the export revenue of over 1 billion USD for the Vietnamese fertiliser industry.
In the first months of this year, fertiliser prices still fluctuated erratically while raw materials and fuel sources were scarce. Some major markets in Asia (China) tightened exports, others in Africa (Nigeria) and the Middle East narrowed production, and Russia conducted extensive maintenance of factories, causing a shrink in global supply.
In that context, Ca Mau Fertilizer has focused on infrastructure and human resources to improve production capacity, helping expand domestic supply. The factory has operated at 115%-116% capacity with a steady urea output of 860,000 tonnes, striving to reach a urea equivalent of 950,000 tonnes.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hien has directed the team to closely follow market developments and take advantage of every business opportunity, no matter how small. In particular, thanks to being well received by the market, including quality, reasonable price, and advanced polyphosphate technology, Ca Mau Petroleum Fertilizer Joint Stock Company has strived to produce 200,000 tonnes of Ca Mau NPK in conjunction with implementing important assigned projects.
Taking on the leading role of the company, businesswoman Nguyen Thi Hien has always been under considerable pressure. However, thanks to her sharp, dynamic and brave thinking, when coupled with her flexibility in management, Hien always keeps the fire burning among her team, creating a collective unity to help the company overcome many stressful periods and achieve success, stable development and prosperity.
She is also an active factor, contributing to making policy recommendations related to tax rates on fertilisers to harmonise the interests of manufacturers, farmers, and consumers, thus helping to stabilise the fertiliser market. This also helps Ca Mau Fertilizer JSC undertake the task of facilitating agriculture, contributing to the national food security strategy.
Ca Mau Fertilizer still has a long journey ahead. Certainly, the mark of a talented woman will make the overall success even stronger. The knowledge of the market and customers from the process of holding many management positions in the industry will be a special "source of capital" for businesswoman Nguyen Thi Hien to utilise in devising important business strategies and conquering new growth goals.
Overcoming difficulties and challenges, Ca Mau Fertilizer has achieved many important business targets, such as: exporting 400,000 tonnes in 2022; and reaching revenue of 16,380 billion VND. In the first nine months of 2023, urea production was equivalent to 704,810 tonnes; urea consumption reached 692,390 tonnes; revenue reached 9,902.8 billion VND; and urea exports reached 232,000 tonnes.
