Italian Film Festival 2024 to take place in Ho Chi Minh City

The Italian Film Festival 2024 will be held in Ho Chi Minh City from September 29 to October 4, introducing local cinema lovers to six of the most recent and well-known movies produced by Italian filmmakers.

The films to be screened include Io Capitano (I'm the Captain) by director Matteo Garrone; Palazzina Laf (Cold Rolling Mill) by director Michele Riondino; Zamora by director Neri Marcorè; Quell'estate con Irène (That Summer with Irène) by director Carlo Sironi; Rapito (Kidnapped) by director Marco Bellocchio; and La Chimera (The Impossible Dream) by director Alice Rohrwacher.

Having won many prestigious awards in Europe and around the world, the contemporary cinematic works delve into topics like family life, love, and the multifaceted modern Italian society.

All movies are scheduled to be shown at 7:30pm at Galaxy Cinema, 116 Nguyen Du, District 1, and will be screened in Italian with both Vietnamese and English subtitles.

Within the framework of the festival, a workshop discussing trends in film production in contemporary Italian cinema will be organised on October 2 with the participation of Italian director Antonio Termenini.
