The six participating artists were painter Vuong Linh, sculptor Le Ngoc Thuan, painters Le Ngoc Quan, Nguyen Thu Thuy, Ly Tran, and Hoang Huong Giang. Their works have been highly regarded by international collectors.
According to painter Vuong Linh, the 30 displayed paintings and sculptures were inspired by the cultural convergence of East and West, offering international audiences and the European Vietnamese community a fascinating experience of the harmony between visual art and music.
Sculptor Le Ngoc Thuan, from Hoi An (Quang Nam), is the founder of Cococasa Art Gallery and the artistic space Lang Cui Lu. His works tell the story of driftwood from the land of the Co Tu people, embodying the essence of traditional sculpture.
Painter Le Ngoc Quan presented works reflecting his perspective on Hanoi. His paintings captured the capital’s beauty with delicate brushstrokes and vibrant oil colours.
Nguyen Thu Thuy, a multimedia artist, showcased works ranging from monoprints and polygonal acrylic paintings to ceramics. Her art became a kaleidoscope of colours and shapes through an abstract approach, expressing the complexity of human identity and its connection to nature.
Ly Tran’s artworks combined impressionistic and expressionistic techniques, conveying deep emotions. Her artistic journey has been marked by exhibitions in the U.S., Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand. Notably, she won the "Best Artwork" award in August 2023 at the BON VOYAGE Freedom & Love International Art Exhibition in Indonesia.
Hoang Huong Giang contributed paintings on do paper and lacquer, featuring strong Eastern influences with lotus flower themes. She is also an active art advocate and the founder of the "Rock Painting" project in Hanoi, which aims to spread the love of art, especially among young people.
Vuong Linh is the youngest painter and the group's leader. Her works depict serene spaces filled with Eastern spirituality, transforming emotions into dreamlike colours and shapes.
Mr Dominic Steiner, Director of Gallery Steiner, noted that each Vietnamese artist brought a unique artistic language and diverse colour palette. He highlighted that this was the first exhibition of Vietnamese artists in central Vienna, offering art lovers a fresh and distinct experience.
Ms Dinh Hoang Yen, representative of Vietnam’s Trade Office in Austria and Slovenia, expressed her delight at the exhibition’s success and hopes for future opportunities for Vietnamese artists to continue sharing their art with European audiences.
During the exhibition, from March 21 to April 12, 2025, the artists will visit art museums in Vienna, Rome, and Switzerland and attend the Art Fair in Paris, further expanding opportunities to introduce Vietnamese art to the global public.
