Japan Coast Guard patrol vessel pays courtesy visit to Da Nang

During the visit, Japanese officers and sailors are scheduled to pay courtesy calls on leaders of the Da Nang People’s Committee, the director of the regional maritime search and rescue coordination centre No. 2, and the Commander of Coast Guard Region 2, as well as visit local cultural and tourist sites.

The Japan Coast Guard patrol vessel Akitsushima, led by Deputy Commander Rear Admiral Takahashi Toru, arrived at Tien Sa Port on January 19, beginning a five-day courtesy visit to the central coastal city of Da Nang.

At the welcoming ceremony, representatives of the municipal authorities presented flowers to extend their greetings to the 60 officers and crew members on board.

During the visit, Japanese officers and sailors are scheduled to pay courtesy calls on leaders of the Da Nang People’s Committee, the director of the regional maritime search and rescue coordination centre No. 2, and the Commander of Coast Guard Region 2, as well as visit local cultural and tourist sites.

The visit by the Akitsushima underscores efforts to strengthen mutual understanding and trust between the two countries’ maritime law enforcement forces. It also contributes to further deepening the Viet Nam-Japan Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for Peace and Prosperity in Asia and the World, enhancing the depth, substance and effectiveness of bilateral cooperation.
