The ship, carrying more than 200 officers and crew members, is led by Colonel Jio Takemasa, Commander of JMSDF Escort Flotilla Two.

At the welcome ceremony, representatives of Da Nang’s administration presented flowers to welcome the visiting officers and crew.

The visit is expected to contribute to strengthening friendship and mutual trust between the two countries, in line with efforts to advance the Viet Nam–Japan Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, which was upgraded in November 2023.

They will also take part in professional exchanges and sports activities with officers of the Viet Nam People’s Navy, host a reception on board, and tour a number of local cultural and tourist sites.
