The Pathetlao Daily’s articles highlighted the two countries’ tradition of helping each other, which was established during their struggles for national independence.
Such a tradition has grown into the Vietnam-Laos relationship of special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation, the foundation of which was laid by presidents Ho Chi Minh, Kaysone Phomvihane and Souphanouvong and nurtured by the generations of leaders and people of the two countries.
In recent years, the Vietnam-Laos relationship has been continually expanded and developed across all fields, bringing substantive benefits to the people of both countries.
In order to further promote this relationship, the two countries leaders decided to jointly organise the Vietnam-Laos Solidarity and Friendship Year 2022, as well as the 60th anniversary of diplomatic ties and the 45th anniversary of the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation, in a meaningful way.
Activities of the Vietnam-Laos Solidarity and Friendship Year will help the younger generation gain a better understanding about the special relationship between the two countries.
