Lao PM Sonexay Siphandone begins official visit to Viet Nam

At the invitation of Prime Minister Le Minh Hung, Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone, his spouse and a high-ranking delegation of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic (PDR), are paying an official visit to Viet Nam and attending the third ASEAN Future Forum from June 7 to 9.

Joining the delegation are Politburo members: Deputy PM and Minister of Education and Sports Thongsalith Mangnomek, and Deputy PM and Minister of National Defence Khamlieng Outhakaisone; Thongsavan Phomvihane, Party Central Committee member, Deputy PM and Minister of Foreign Affairs; Santiphab Phomvihane, Party Central Committee member, Deputy PM, Minister of Finance and Chairman of the Laos-Viet Nam Cooperation Committee; Bounkham Vorachit, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Governor of the Bank of the Lao PDR; and Vanthong Kongmany, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Minister of Public Security.

Also accompanying the delegation are Party Central Committee members: Bouakhong Nammavong, Minister and Head of the Prime Minister’s Office; Baykham Khattiya, Minister of Health; Suanesavanh Vignaket, Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism; Phosay Sayasone, Minister of Labour and Social Welfare; Leklai Sivilay, Minister of Public Works and Transport; Malaithong Kommasith, Minister of Industry and Commerce; Linkham Douangsavanh, Minister of Agriculture and Environment; and Santisouk Simmalavong, Minister of Technology and Communications.

The delegation also includes Khamphao Ernthavanh, Lao Ambassador to Viet Nam; and Phonevanh Outhavong, Deputy Minister and Standing Vice Chairman of the Investment Promotion and Management Committee.
