On June 21, 1980, General Secretary Le Duan received the Lenin International Prize for consolidating peace among nations. With a heart of love, concern and care for the education of the young generation, the late Party chief presented this gift to the children of Hanoi.
On the occasion of his 80th birthday (April 7, 1987), the school officially changed its name to the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneers Cadres School, named after Le Duan.
Le Duan School has the same size as a professional high school, with the following functions and tasks related to training and fostering facilities for cadres, in charge of the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer Organisation.
