- On the same day, the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and the 2nd Corps Command met at the Basic Command Post in Dong Truoi to thoroughly grasp the directive of the Military Commission and assess the results of the first phase of the campaign, determining the next combat strategy. In the face of the 324th Division facing difficulties at Mo Tau and Hill 303, the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and the Corps Command decided to increase fire support for the 324th Division and at the same time disseminate experience and prepare well for the 325th Division to prepare for combat.
- On the Vinh-Tra battlefield (the 9th Military Region) on the morning of March 15, the US troops used helicopters to land the 1st Battalion of the 10th Regiment 3km from Cau Ke. At the same time, the M113 vehicle squadron from Tieu Can planned to coordinate with the 2nd Battalion in Vinh Xuan from two directions to attack Thay Pho. The 3rd Regiment deployed units to block the attack, preventing both US troop's wings from entering. Realising the risk of being annihilated, General Nguyen Khoa Nam of the 4th Corps Command ordered his troops to retreat.
- In the 88th Military Region from the night of March 14 to the early morning of March 15, the 8th Division, the main force of the Military Region, used the 5th Regiment in combination with heavy artillery to destroy the Nga Sau base for the second time. Being stretched everywhere, fearing that Vietnamese troops would attack the Hau My sub-region, the US troops had to abandon the Nga Sau base and concentrate forces to defend the Hau My sub-region, while at the same time moving forces from the forth area of Kien Tuong to defend Road No. 4 (Binh Phu and My Thien areas).
