The meeting was attended by General Secretary and President To Lam; Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh; National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man; and Politburo members: Luong Cuong, permanent member of the Party Central Committee's Secretariat; and General Phan Van Giang, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission and Minister of Defence.
Speaking at the meeting, General Phan Van Giang emphasised that in the nearly 80 years of building, fighting and growing under the leadership of the Party, the State and President Ho Chi Minh, the People's Army and the People's Public Security are two forces that have always been absolutely loyal to the Party, the State and the people; are the core forces in protecting the Fatherland, national security, social order, and safety; and always stand united, shoulder to shoulder, side by side, excellently completing all assigned tasks, and contributing to creating a peaceful and stable environment to build and develop a prosperous and happy country.
For his part, Senior Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang, member of the Party Central Committee and Minister of Public Security, stated that the People's Army and the People's Public Security are two important revolutionary armed forces of the Party, State, and people.
Educated and trained by the Party and President Ho Chi Minh; under the leadership of the Party and State, the People's Army and the People's Public Security have always stood shoulder to shoulder, with joined hands, to unanimously overcome all difficulties and hardships, and have successfully carried out national defence and security tasks, firmly protected the Fatherland, maintained political stability, and actively contributed to the cause of innovation, national development and peacekeeping in the region and the world, he noted.
