The event was attended by Do Van Chien, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, and President of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Central Committee; Le Hoai Trung, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs; and Phan Anh Son, President of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organisations; along with representatives of leaders from various commissions, ministries, sectors, socio-political organisations, and mass associations.
The programme was participated by nearly 100 international delegates, representing international organisations, people’s organisations, non-governmental organisations, businesses, and individuals who have long been close friends and accompanied with Viet Nam during its historical journey and current development process.
In his remarks, Do Van Chien, President of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Central Committee, expressed profound gratitude to international friends for their support and contributions to Viet Nam’s cause of national liberation, reunification, and national construction and defence. He affirmed that, during all stages of the revolution, the Party, State, and people of Viet Nam have always respected and appreciated the deep sentiments and valuable support from international friends and peoples.
Do Van Chien noted that Viet Nam is striving to become a developed country with a modern industry and upper middle-income status by 2030, and a developed country with high income by 2045. The entire Party, people, and army of Viet Nam are making concerted efforts towards three major goals: firmly safeguarding independence, sovereignty, self-reliance, and territorial integrity; promoting rapid and sustainable socio-economic development to build a prosperous and strong country; and constantly improving the material and spiritual lives of the people. To achieve these targets, the Party, State, and people of Viet Nam look forward to receiving continued wholehearted and effective support and assistance from international friends across all fields.
At the event, international delegates expressed their heartfelt admiration for President Ho Chi Minh and the people of Viet Nam, shared memories of their activities supporting the Vietnamese people during the two resistance wars for national independence as well as in the cause of national defence, construction, and development. They affirmed the great significance of the success of the August Revolution and the National Day (September 2) of the Vietnamese people for the movement for national liberation, peace, and justice in the world.

On the occasion, on behalf of the Party and state leaders, Do Van Chien presented the Friendship Order of the President of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, and Le Hoai Trung presented the Prime Minister’s Certificate of Merit to organisations and individuals in recognition of the valuable support and active contributions of international friends to Viet Nam.
The programme expressed the profound appreciation of the Party, State, and people of Viet Nam for the solidarity and valuable support of international friends.
At the same time, the event sent a message to friends around the world about Viet Nam: a faithful and steadfast country that always treasures the support of international friends; and a friend, reliable partner, as well as an active and responsible member of the international community. Through this, Viet Nam seeks to further strengthen friendship and cooperation between the Vietnamese people and peoples worldwide, take advantage of international support for the cause of national construction and defence, and contribute to enhancing the country’s international standing and prestige.
