Khang’s delegation joined leaders of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee and presented gifts to support trade union members, local people, workers and teachers who have suffered negative effects from the historic flooding.
In the morning of the same day, Khang awarded VND500 million to a representative from the Fatherland Front Committee of Ha Tinh province to support the locality in overcoming damage caused by floods.
On November 6 and 7, in Quang Ngai and Quang Nam provinces, the UNDP provided 800 household utensils to poor local households as well as 30 tonnes of chemical disinfectants and equipment to monitor and assess floods and storms.
The aforementioned support is a part of the UNDP's US$400,000 emergency assistance package for people affected by storms and floods in the five most severely affected provinces of Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue, Quang Nam and Quang Ngai.
The UNDP is expected to mobilise an additional US$1 million for emergency response and post-disaster recovery activities.
On November 7, the 372 Air Force Division transported relief goods by road from Da Nang City to the mountainous district of Phuoc Son, Quang Nam province to support isolated people affected by storms, floods and landslides. The relief included eight tonnes of rice, 520 blankets, 64 boxes of instant noodles, warm clothes and other necessities.
Long An province has decided to provide VND5 billion to support people in five central provinces of Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue, Quang Nam and Ha Tinh to overcome difficulties and rejuvenate their lives after the storms and floods. 10 tonnes of rice will be sent to each locality and the Long An’s Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee has also received donations worth over VND3 billion while calling for VND2 billion for the central region.
Thai Binh province has sent VND1.5 billion and goods worth more than VND800 million to the Central Relief Fund (under the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee) to support their compatriots in Quang Binh province.
On November 7, Vietnam Social Security awarded 250 health insurance cards to local people in Song Cau town, Phu Yen province which was badly affected by the recent storm Molave.
A golf tournament “Golf Master 2020 – VietOil” has raised funds at more than VND6.2 billion to support flood victims in the central provinces.
