In her address, Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh praised the achievements of Dong Trieu’s leadership and residents, urging continued efforts to transform the city into a model urban centre that is modern, green, and liveable.
She highlighted Dong Trieu’s role in contributing to Quang Ninh’s ambition of becoming a centrally run city by 2030 and a major urban hub with regional and international significance by 2050.
Over the years, Dong Trieu has focused on comprehensive development, striving to build a clean, modern city with high living standards. The city has achieved an economic growth rate of over 14% annually, prioritising high-tech industries and quality services. By 2030, annual per capita income is expected to exceed 10,000 USD.
Nguyen Van Cong, Secretary of Dong Trieu Party Committee, emphasised that these accomplishments reflect the collective efforts of the political system and residents. He expressed confidence in Dong Trieu’s bright future as a dynamic, youthful city, poised to contribute significantly to Quang Ninh’s and Vietnam’s development.
The ceremony concluded with Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Thanh officially presenting the First-Class Labour Order to Dong Trieu along with the resolution establishing it as a city.
