With four topics addressing pressing global and national challenges, this year’s forum is themed “Global Young Vietnamese Intellectuals Contributing to the Nation’s New Era.”
The 5th Global Forum of Young Vietnamese Intellectuals in 2022 took place in Ben Tre Province, attracting nearly 170 delegates, in-person and online, from 22 countries and territories. With a focus on post-pandemic recovery, the forum featured over 30 presentations, 155 comments, 51 proposals, and 13 registered projects, following two days of intensive discussion.
Building on this momentum, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Vietnam Youth Federation will host the 6th Global Forum of Young Vietnamese Intellectuals in February 2025, with online activities starting in December 2024. The event aims to unlock the potential, creativity, and expertise of young Vietnamese intellectuals worldwide to help propel the nation into a new era.
Professor and Doctor Tran Xuan Bach, Vice President of the Vietnam Youth Federation and Secretary-General of the Global Young Vietnamese Intellectuals Network, emphasised that this forum aims not only to exchange ideas but also to incubate innovative solutions, groundbreaking research, and practical proposals for Vietnam’s future. The four discussion topics reflect key national and global concerns.
The first topic provides an overview of trends in applying artificial intelligence and advanced technologies to boost labour productivity and improve work efficiency in the context of Vietnam’s digital transformation.
The second topic delves into innovative entrepreneurship linked to the green economy. While, the remaining two topics address significant global issues, including climate change, energy security, and smart infrastructure planning. These challenges are not only highly specialised but also have far-reaching impacts on all aspects of social life. As such, they require delegates to propose creative ideas, demonstrating the bold and proactive spirit of the younger generation, with a vision toward a sustainable future.
According to Associate Professor Dr Dao Viet Hang, Head of the Global Young Vietnamese Intellectuals Network, with the participation of nearly 200 outstanding young intellectuals from both Vietnam and abroad, the forum is not limited simply to discussions but is designed to serve as a launchpad, laying the foundation for initiatives to be swiftly implemented in practice.
At the forum, delegates will have the opportunity to present their solutions to leading experts and policymakers. This ensures that ideas are refined, tested, and developed into models that bring tangible value to the country.
Since its inception in 2018, the Global Forum of Young Vietnamese Intellectuals has been held five times, attracting nearly 1,000 official delegates from around the world. It has recorded thousands of proposals and recommendations tied to timely and significant discussion topics at each forum. Notably, these forums have led to the formation of the Global Young Vietnamese Intellectuals Network, which now comprises over 1,000 members. These members are organised into smaller groups focusing on various fields such as automation, agriculture 4.0, circular economy, green economy, sustainable development, educational technology, digital healthcare, and youth behaviour research.
