The event was a meaningful cultural and artistic exchange aimed at promoting cultural interaction, enhancing mutual understanding and deepening friendship and cooperation between Ninh Binh and Saiki in particular, and between Viet Nam and Japan more broadly. The concert was also held in celebration of the successful conclusion of the 14th National Party Congress.
The programme brought together artists from the Ninh Binh Traditional Arts Theatre and the RENTARO Kyushu Chamber Orchestra from Oita Prefecture, regarded as the cradle of Western music in Japan. The orchestra is dedicated to spreading the works of Takaki Rentaro, Japan’s first classical composer, while introducing the essence of Japanese music to wider audiences.
Presented in a chamber music format combined with traditional performing arts, the concert created a distinctive musical space that highlighted the harmonious convergence of Vietnamese and Japanese cultures. RENTARO Kyushu performed a range of renowned Japanese and international pieces, including Kojo no Tsuki, Saiki Ondo, Umi no Mieru Machi, Jonetsu Tairiku and Oboe Quartet KV.370, alongside Western classical works.
Vietnamese performances featured folk-inspired songs and traditional instruments, showcasing the richness of Viet Nam’s cultural heritage to international friends.
Several items were jointly performed by artists from both countries, with creative and seamless coordination that delivered emotional and memorable ensemble performances.
The programme also introduced images of Ninh Binh—home to the ancient capital of Hoa Lu and renowned for its historical and natural heritage—thereby fostering cultural and tourism cooperation between Ninh Binh and Saiki.
The concert concluded with Bai ca Ho Chi Minh (The Ballad of Ho Chi Minh), performed by Vietnamese and Japanese artists together, expressing deep respect for President Ho Chi Minh as a symbol of peace, independence and friendship among nations.
Beyond artistic exchange, the event stood as a vivid testament to mutual respect, connection and understanding, contributing positively to strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership between Viet Nam and Japan.
