Organised by the Viet Nam Japan Culture Promotion Organisation (VJCP) with support from the Vietnamese Consulate General in Osaka and local authorities. It features music, traditional performances, exhibitions, and culinary showcases.
In his opening remarks, Vietnamese Consul General Ngo Trinh Ha highlighted the event’s historical and cultural significance. “This festival is a meaningful opportunity for the Vietnamese community, particularly in the Kansai region, to reinforce unity, build a strong diaspora, and maintain close ties to the homeland,” he said.
Japanese Lower House member Iwaya Ryohei expressed delight at Japan’s growing appreciation for Vietnamese culture: “Today’s festival is a wonderful opportunity to introduce the richness of Viet Nam to more Japanese citizens. Events like this deepen mutual understanding.”
Tran Nhat Hoang, Deputy Director of the International Cooperation Department at Viet Nam’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, noted: “I feel immensely proud. Even though we’re far from home, the atmosphere makes it feel like Viet Nam is right here.”
The programme included vibrant performances by Issac, Phuc Anh, Duyen Quynh, and the group Shinobi Swag.

The festival attracts the attention of many young people |
Festival-goer Nguyen Thi Hoa shared: “It’s heartwarming to see so many people here, from all generations. I brought my children to show them our culture.”
Visitors were gifted conical hats and scarves, and joined the “Van co To quoc tung bay” (Ten thousand national flags flying) campaign, waving national flags along a 300-meter red carpet. Over 10,000 flags were shipped from Viet Nam for the event.
