Opening with composer Xuan Oanh’s song “Muoi chin thang Tam” (August 19), the programme evoked the heroic atmosphere of 81 years ago, when, under the leadership of the Party, people across the country successfully carried out the August Revolution, bringing power into the hands of the people and paving the way for the establishment of the Democratic Republic of Viet Nam.

The programme continued with songs about the Party, national pride, and President Ho Chi Minh, before concluding with the much-loved song “Nhu co Bac trong ngay dai thang” (As if Uncle Ho were present on the day of great victory).

Ha Noi simultaneously staged a range of art programmes for residents on the evening of August 19. Ha Noi Cheo Theatre performed in Binh Minh Commune, while Ha Noi Cai Luong Theatre entertained audiences in Hat Mon Commune.

Ha Noi Drama Theatre staged a performance in Ba Vi Commune and Thang Long Song and Dance Theatre presented an art programme at the Tran Nhan Tong Pedestrian Space in Hai Ba Trung Ward.
