The event is jointly organised by four publishing and book distribution companies, including Thai Ha Books, Viet Nam Women’s Publishing House, Minh Long Books and the Publishing House of the University of Education, in coordination with the Ha Noi Book Street Management Board.
The fair is designed as a cultural space for residents and visitors during the public holiday, featuring areas for sightseeing, recreation and relaxation. It also aims to encourage a love of reading, foster a spirit of self-directed learning and equip students with knowledge ahead of the new academic year.
Visitors will have access to a wide range of books covering literature, children’s books, life skills, economics, history, science and technology, education and other specialised subjects.
Participating organisers will offer a range of special promotions, including books priced at 5,000, 10,000, 20,000, 30,000 and 50,000 VND. Many new titles will be discounted by 30%-50%, with some promotions offering discounts of up to 60%, along with attractive book bundles and gifts.
The fair will feature interactive activities, including a lucky wheel at the main stage, clown meet-and-greet and balloon-twisting activities for young readers, a check-in promotion with gifts, and a virtual reality experience. A charity egg-shell art sale will also be held to raise funds for pupils at Ban Bo Secondary School in Lai Chau Province, organised by the Viet Nam Women’s Publishing House.
Modern music ensemble performances will take place on the evenings of August 29, 30 and 31.
Through the event, the organisers seek to reaffirm the role of books and reading culture in expanding knowledge, enriching spiritual life, nurturing national pride and contributing to sustainable social development.
