To celebrate the 81st anniversary of the victory of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 – August 19, 2026) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam (September 2, 1945 – September 2, 2026), the Ha Noi Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has directed arts troupes to organise numerous performances across various communes and wards. These events aim to foster a joyful, spirited atmosphere while meeting the public’s cultural needs.
The programmes are divided into two phases.
The first phase comprises six programmes, all taking place simultaneously at 8:00 PM on August 19. The Thang Long Puppetry Theatre is performing for residents in Ngoc Hoi Commune, while the Ha Noi Circus and Variety Theatre is bringing its show to Quang Minh Commune.
The Ha Noi Cheo Theatre is performing in Binh Minh Commune, and the Ha Noi Cai Luong Theatre is entertaining audiences in Hat Mon Commune. The Ha Noi Drama Theatre is staging a performance in Ba Vi Commune, and the Thang Long Song, Dance and Music Theatre is hosting a programme at the Tran Nhan Tong Pedestrian Zone in Hai Ba Trung Ward.
Featuring a diverse range of art forms, including Cheo, Cai Luong, drama, puppetry, circus acts, and music and dance, this series of programmes creates a vibrant artistic atmosphere across the capital while bringing professional arts troupes closer to the public.
The second phase of programmes will take place on the evenings of September 1 and 2.
Specifically, on the evening of September 1, the Thang Long Song, Dance and Music Theatre will perform in Dan Phuong Commune, and the Ha Noi Circus and Variety Theatre will perform for the residents of Minh Chau Commune. On the evening of September 2, numerous programmes continued to be held across various localities.
The Ha Noi Cheo Theatre will performed at the Ba Kieu Temple Flower Garden area (Hoan Kiem Ward), while the Ha Noi Drama Theatre is scheduled to perform in Phuc Son Commune. The Ha Noi Cai Luong Theatre will entertain audiences in Bat Trang Commune, and the Thang Long Puppetry Theatre will perform in Dai Xuyen Commune. Additionally, the Ha Noi Cultural and Library Centre will organise an arts programme in Hoa Lac Commune.
These artistic programmes will focus on works praising the Communist Party of Viet Nam, President Ho Chi Minh, and the nation’s revolutionary traditions, while highlighting the historical significance of the August Revolution of 1945 and National Day (September 2).
Furthermore, the programmes aim to honour the Vietnamese homeland, country, and people; showcase the heroic and culturally rich traditions of Thang Long-Ha Noi; and promote the image of the capital as a city of “Culture, Civilisation, and Modernity”. They also reflect the achievements of both the nation and Ha Noi in the processes of renewal, integration, and development.
