The August General Uprising in 1945, led by the Communist Party of Viet Nam, ended nearly a century of colonial slavery under French colonialists and Japanese fascists, as well as thousands of years of feudal rule.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on February 27 received visiting Portuguese Minister of State and Foreign Affairs Paulo Rangel, during which he affirmed that Viet Nam attaches great importance to and wants to further deepen friendship and multifaceted cooperation with Portugal.
