The architecture of the exhibition hall is a blend of Russian, American, and European gallery architecture as well as traditional Uzbek architecture. The exhibition hall is 3,500 square meters wide, including 15 galleries and a complex of functional areas for organising exhibitions, seminars, film screenings, and other events.

In the cultural space of the NBU Art Gallery, Nguyen Thi Thanh Nga visits the gallery of silk products, ceramics, bronze, woven carpets, and many unique products of Uzbek handicraft artisans.

Uzbekistan ranks third in the world in silk production, after China and India. Uzbekistan silk dates back to the second millennium BC during the period of the most famous trade route connecting the east and the west — the Silk Road — with a history of more than 4,000 years.

Uzbekistan produces only natural silk, which is distinguished by its softness, pleasantness to the touch, high durability, and breathability, while the fabric is dyed entirely with natural dyes.

Uzbek silk is on the UNESCO World Heritage List as the most charming, lightest, most colourful and is the national symbol of Uzbekistan.

Using ancient technology, various silk products, from national clothes and hats to carpets, interior decorations, and souvenirs, are produced in Uzbekistan.
