Upon arrival, NA Vice President Nguyen Hong Dien and the delegation laid flowers and offered incense in tribute to President Ho Chi Minh at the Ho Chi Minh Space on the premises of the Vietnamese Embassy in Tanzania. This cultural and political project of special significance was inaugurated on September 2, 2025, to mark the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam and the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries. It was also the first project dedicated to President Ho Chi Minh in East Africa.

In a solemn atmosphere, the NA Vice President and the delegation expressed their profound gratitude for his immense contributions to the nation's revolutionary cause and Vietnamese diplomacy.

The NA Vice President subsequently held an informal meeting with the embassy's staff.

On behalf of the NA's leadership, Nguyen Hong Dien acknowledged, commended, and highly appreciated the embassy staff's sustained efforts and tangible achievements, despite the challenges of carrying out their duties across an extensive area under their concurrent jurisdiction.

He also briefed the diplomats in detail on the country's positive socio-economic development in the first half of 2026, emphasising the new NA's strong commitment to shifting its approach from “management” mindset towards “development facilitation.”

Outlining priorities for the period ahead, NA Vice President Nguyen Hong Dien asked the embassy to focus on effectively implementing key tasks, including continuing to strengthen the foundation of bilateral political trust and closely coordinate efforts to promote high-level exchanges through various channels, deepening the traditional friendship between the two countries; stepping up parliamentary diplomacy and making it an important pillar of bilateral cooperation; and proactively promoting the establishment of friendship parliamentary groups between the two countries as well as enhancing their role.

He also asked for continuing to serve effectively as a bridge for economic, trade, and investment cooperation; working alongside and support Vietnamese businesses investing in the country, promptly addressing their difficulties and protecting their lawful and legitimate interests.

He requested the embassy to pay close attention to and provide comprehensive support for Vietnamese nationals overseas in line with the resolutions of the Party Central Committee; renew approaches to ensure genuine support for the community in stabilising their lives, integrating into local society, and maintaining ties with their homeland.

On behalf of the diplomatic mission, Ambassador Vu Thanh Huyen affirmed that the embassy would seriously take on board the guidance provided by the NA's leadership. She pledged to promote solidarity and perseverance in overcoming difficulties, further strengthening substantive cooperation between Viet Nam and Tanzania and across East Africa, and contributing to the country's shared prosperity in the new era.
