The meaningful event took place on the occasion of celebrating the successful conclusion of the 14th National Party Congress, the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Viet Nam, the 80th anniversary of the first general election to elect the National Assembly, and as the nation prepares to welcome the Lunar New Year of Horse 2026.
In a solemn atmosphere, on behalf of the NA, the NA Party Committee and the NA Standing Committee, NA Chairman Tran Thanh Man and other delegates respectfully offered incense, expressing profound gratitude to President Ho Chi Minh.
Speaking with officials and staff of the President Ho Chi Minh Relic Site, the NA leader emphasised that President Ho Chi Minh was a brilliant leader of the nation, an outstanding revolutionary with great prestige in the international communist and workers’ movements and in global struggles for peace and national independence. He is deeply respected and admired by communist and socialist parties as well as peace-loving people worldwide.
He underscored that President Ho Chi Minh laid the foundations for building Viet Nam’s socialist rule-of-law state of the people, by the people and for the people. Under the leadership of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh, the first general election on January 6, 1946 marked a historic milestone, opening a new era in the nation’s development.
Over the past 80 years and through 15 terms, the NA has continuously renewed itself, improved the quality of legislation, supreme supervision and decision-making on major national issues, making significant contributions to national construction and defence.
He affirmed that the Party Committee and Standing Committee of the NA would strive to effectively implement the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress, work closely with the Government under the leadership of the Politburo, the Secretariat and the Party Central Committee, headed by General Secretary To Lam, to promptly institutionalise Party guidelines, remove bottlenecks and create a comprehensive development-oriented institutional framework. Immediate priorities include effectively carrying out key tasks in 2026 and thoroughly preparing for the successful organisation of elections for deputies to the 16th NA and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 tenure, while continuing to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of NA operations.
On the occasion of the upcoming Lunar New Year, NA Chairman Tran Thanh Man extended his best wishes for health, happiness and success to officials and staff of the President Ho Chi Minh Relic Site, expressing confidence that the unit would continue to preserve, safeguard and promote the invaluable legacy of President Ho Chi Minh to domestic and international visitors.
In the past year, the relic site welcomed nearly 2.6 million domestic and international visitors and organised 15 thematic exhibitions, including displays on the 14 Party Congresses and activities celebrating the upcoming 16th NA elections, attracting wide public interest.
