Nhan Dan – The first National Movement Mini Football Championships – Saigon Beer Cup is scheduled to officially begin on May 6 in Ho Chi Minh City.

The event expects to draw the participation of 1000 teams from 16 provinces and cities across the country.

The qualifying round of the tournament is being held from May 7 to August 25 in 16 localities including Ho Chi Minh City, provinces in the Southwest, Central Highlands and Central regions and Hanoi.

The final round is planned to be organised in Ho Chi Minh City between August 28 and 31.

The tournament prizes have a total value of VND1.5 billion (US$72,000). Accordingly, the champion will receive a gold medal and VND120 million (US$5,760) while the runners-up and third place team will be awarded VND60 million (US$2,880) and VND30 million (US$1,440) respectively.

The event is co-organised by the Saigon Beer-Alcohol-Beverage Joint Stock Corporation and the Vietnam Football Federation.
