Nhan Dan Newspaper enhances press cooperation with Cuba, RoK

At the meeting, on behalf of the leaders, officers and employees of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Le Quoc Minh, who is also a member of the Party Central Committee (PCC), deputy head of the PCC’s Communications and Education Commission and chairman of the Vietnam Journalists’ Association, expressed his pleasure to welcome and thank comrade Luis Enrique González Acosta and members of the delegation for visiting Nhan Dan Newspaper.

Editor-in-Chief Le Quoc Minh emphasised that Nhan Dan Newspaper has had a close relationship with the Cuban press for many years. Currently, there is a separate page on the website of Nhan Dan Newspaper for Vietnam-Cuba relations.

The newspaper has also welcomed many Cuban journalists to visit.

The Party's mouthpiece is promoting the building of an inclusive and modern newsroom.

Apart from traditional publications, it is developing contents on digital platforms to attract readers, especially young ones, thereby improving the efficiency and popularisation of news, he said.

The official stressed that the newspaper is considered a bright spot in digital transformation in Vietnam’s press system.

Nhan Dan Newspaper is ready to cooperate and share experience in fields of its strength with Cuban press agencies, including Prensa Latina, he said.

Acosta spoke highly of changes in Nhan Dan Newspaper and added that Prensa Latina will learn from its experience and promote cooperation with Nhan Dan, particularly in digital transformation.

Luis Enrique González Acosta expressed that this visit to Nhan Dan Newspaper is an important opportunity for Prensa Latina to identify specific contents of cooperation and learn from the newspaper’s experiences in the field of digital television.

He expressed his belief that collaboration between the two news agencies will continue to grow, further contributing to the ties between the two Parties and States.

On the same day, Le Quoc Minh also received a delegation from the Korea Press Foundation (KPF), led by Lee Hee Yong, for a visit to Nhan Dan Newspaper.

At the meeting, the Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper briefed his guests on the Vietnamese press as well as history and achievements of Nhan Dan Newspaper over its 70 years.

He stressed that visits and media conferences between Vietnam and the Republic of Korea have contributed to cementing ties among journalists and between their press sectors.

The host said he hopes the RoK will continue sharing experience and training skills for Vietnamese reporters in the near future.

KPF Business Director Lee Hee-yong expressed his wish that the two press sectors will continue stepping up their practical and effective collaboration towards reaching a long-term coordination to further popularise information about Vietnam to Korean readers.
