Amid Viet Nam’s comprehensive international integration, external communication has become increasingly important, contributing to enhancing the country’s credibility and standing globally while fostering mutual understanding among nations and peoples.
As the Party’s newspaper, Nhan Dan has consistently upheld its mission of disseminating the Party’s guidelines and policies, and the State’s laws and policies; shaping public opinion; countering false and hostile information; and promoting the image of a friendly, peaceful, and developing Viet Nam.
Over more than 27 years of establishment and development, Nhan Dan Online in Vietnamese, English, French, Chinese, Russian, and Spanish has played an important role in communicating the Party’s guidelines and the State’s policies and laws to the domestic public as well as overseas Vietnamese communities.
Although Korean is spoken by more than 77 million people and studied by tens of millions worldwide, Viet Nam has so far lacked an official press outlet in the Korean language. Meanwhile, since the establishment of diplomatic relations, Viet Nam–Republic of Korea (RoK) ties have developed strongly and comprehensively in most fields.
The upgrade of bilateral relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in 2022 marked a significant milestone. Approximately 300,000 Vietnamese people are living, studying, and working in the RoK, while around 200,000 Koreans reside in Viet Nam, alongside more than 80,000 Viet Nam–Korea multicultural families. This has created extensive people-to-people exchanges and a growing demand for accurate and reliable information about Viet Nam among Korean-language readers.
The launch of Korean-language Nhan Dan Online represents a concrete step in implementing the Party and State’s policy on strengthening external information, and meets the practical need for an official information channel in one of the world’s fastest-growing languages.
Its target readership includes Korean nationals and Korean-speaking audiences worldwide, Vietnamese people proficient in Korean, and Vietnamese communities living in the RoK and elsewhere.
As a publication of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Korean-language Nhan Dan Online focuses on disseminating the leadership guidelines of the Communist Party of Viet Nam and the State’s policies and laws; combating erroneous viewpoints; and safeguarding the Party and the political system.
It also includes publicising achievements of the renewal process; promoting the image of Viet Nam and its people; and selectively reflecting all aspects of the country’s situation in ways that best serve national and ethnic interests, including providing valuable information to help protect maritime sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The publication also places emphasis on in-depth coverage of friendly and cooperative relations between Viet Nam and other countries, particularly Viet Nam–RoK relations. It employs modern technology platforms, with carefully edited, continuously updated content that ensures accuracy, timeliness, and depth, tailored to international readers.
The launch of Korean-language Nhan Dan Online carries significant practical value: enhancing the effectiveness of the Party and State’s external communication; establishing an official and reliable information channel for Korean readers worldwide; contributing to the promotion of the Viet Nam–RoK Comprehensive Strategic Partnership; expanding the communication space for portraying a peaceful, stable, dynamic, and developing Viet Nam; safeguarding national sovereignty, territorial integrity and interests; and strengthening trust, understanding, and solidarity between the two peoples.
With the launch of Korean-language news website, Nhan Dan Newspaper continues to affirm its pioneering role in external communication, while creating an additional important bridge to bring Viet Nam’s image, people, and policies closer to the international community.
