Speaking at the opening ceremony for the final round, member of the Party Central Committee and Editor-in-chief of Nhan Dan (People) Newspaper Le Quoc Minh, who is also Deputy Head of the PCC’s Commission for Communications and Education, Chairman of Vietnam Journalists’ Association and Chairman of the Jury Council of the 18th National Press Awards’ final round, stressed that the awards have become a truly useful professional activity, as has been affirming its reputation as the most prestigious professional award for Vietnamese journalists.
The press works for the final round of the 18th National Press Awards were selected from 1,905 submissions to the preliminary round.

The works vividly reflected major events and important issues of the country, such as the efforts to implement the socio-economic development plan in 2023, the socio-economic development strategy for the 2020-2030 period, Party building and rectification, the fight against corruption and negativity, the protection of the Party's ideological foundation, “hot” social issues, topics on history, and the commemoration of important events.

Several works discovered new issues, reflected major policies of the Party and State, and proposed numerous creative solutions that spread wide and had great influence in society.
Many works have good quality, serious and elaborate investment, tight structures, and vivid and attractive expressions.

The 18th National Press Awards will be granted on the 99th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21).
