The delegation meets Overseas Vietnamese in Australia.

At the meetings, the delegation shared information with overseas Vietnamese (OVs) about: the country’s situation; activities of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs, especially activities to strengthen solidarity and preserve the Vietnamese culture and language for overseas Vietnamese; connecting and promoting the resources of overseas businessmen and intellectuals; policies on great solidarity and support for associations of the OVs; citizen protection work; and information on work for expatriates.

The delegation also informed the OVs about a number of policies and legal regulations related to foreign workers in general as well as policies to encourage OV entrepreneurs and intellectuals to work, invest and conduct business in Vietnam.

The delegation also spent most of the time exchanging and recording many practical opinions and contributions of experts and intellectuals such as: proposing to connect the elite intellectuals of Vietnam with domestic enterprises to create favourable conditions to put scientific research into practice; building a transparent and specific information mechanism between supply (contributions of OV intellectuals) and demand (demand of the country); promote knowledge transfer instead of technology transfer, because knowledge can be transferred easily, quickly and without the copyright issues of technology; and promote practical activities to preserve Vietnamese culture and language for the descendants of OVs, among others.
