According to Tran Ba Phuc, the overseas Vietnamese community hopes that deputies elected for the new term will listen more attentively to the voices and aspirations of overseas Vietnamese. Overseas Vietnamese also expect the 16th National Assembly to introduce more open and transparent policies to attract younger generations abroad to invest and contribute in areas such as knowledge transfer, science and technology, and innovation. This would help better harness the potential of overseas Vietnamese while contributing to building a stronger and more deeply integrated Viet Nam.

“I hope that the deputies elected by the people will truly represent the will and aspirations of the people and make positive contributions to the country’s development. I sincerely hope that Viet Nam will continue to develop, maintain stability, and further strengthen its integration with the world.”

Sharing his thoughts ahead of the nation’s major event, Tran Trong Nghia, a lecturer from the Faculty of Vietnamese Studies at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities under Viet Nam National University, Ho Chi Minh City, who is currently teaching Vietnamese at Universiti Brunei Darussalam, said: “I always follow every step of the country’s transformation with both closeness and a sense of sacred attachment. For me, every election is not only an important political event but also an occasion to clearly feel the strong momentum of our homeland’s development. The election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels this time, in my view, marks a meaningful milestone as the country enters a new stage of development with many opportunities and challenges.”

Tran Trong Nghia believes that voters in the country will select deputies who possess competence, integrity, and a strong spirit of service to the people. “For overseas Vietnamese like us, each election is also a reminder that wherever we are, we remain closely connected to the destiny and future of the nation,” he said.

According to Tran Trong Nghia, the overseas Vietnamese community today is not only large but also increasingly diverse in terms of knowledge, professions, and international experience. Therefore, overseas Vietnamese hope that deputies elected to the National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels will continue paying greater attention to connecting overseas resources with the country’s development. When the voices, aspirations, and initiatives of overseas Vietnamese are heard and respected, the strength of national unity will be further reinforced.

Many overseas Vietnamese also hope for more favourable policies and mechanisms that enable Vietnamese intellectuals, entrepreneurs, and workers abroad to contribute more effectively to the homeland, from knowledge transfer, research cooperation, and economic investment to promoting Vietnamese culture to the world.

As a Party member living and working in Japan, Bui Ngoc Tu, Vice President of the Vietnamese Association in Japan’s Kansai region and President of the Viet Nam–Japan Cultural and Sports Exchange Association in Kansai, also follows the election with pride, deep interest, and a sense of responsibility for the nation’s future.

“Looking at Viet Nam’s progress in recent years, from economic development and international integration to its increasingly elevated position in the international arena, we have greater confidence that the deputies chosen by the people will continue to demonstrate responsibility, vision, and determination to help the country develop more strongly in the new stage,” he said.

According to the Vice President of the Vietnamese Association in the Kansai region, the overseas Vietnamese community always closely follows every step of the country’s development and places great expectations on the deputies elected in the new term. First and foremost, overseas Vietnamese hope that the deputies will listen to, understand, and pay greater attention to the overseas Vietnamese community – an inseparable part of the Vietnamese nation.

He expressed hope that the deputies will continue promoting more open and favourable policies to connect overseas Vietnamese with the homeland, creating conditions for intellectuals, entrepreneurs, and younger generations of Vietnamese abroad to participate more actively in programmes on economic development, science, education, and culture.

According to Tu, today many overseas Vietnamese have achieved success in various fields around the world. With appropriate mechanisms to connect, encourage, and facilitate their participation, the intellectual resources, international management experience, and economic resources of overseas Vietnamese will become an important driving force contributing to Viet Nam’s sustainable development.

Dao Thi Hai Yen, Secretary of the Joint Youth Union Branch and President of the Vietnamese Students’ Association in Kazan, as well as a member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnamese Students’ Association in Russia, shared: “As a Vietnamese student studying in the Russian Federation, I have paid close attention to the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 term with great pride. Even though we are far from home, we always realise that we are part of the country, and this important political event holds profound significance for Viet Nam’s future and development.”

According to Yen, each ballot is not only an expression of the people’s democratic rights but also a sign of trust and expectation placed in deputies who possess both virtue and talent and who represent the will and aspirations of the people in the National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels.

“Personally, as well as many Vietnamese students studying abroad, we have strong confidence in the qualities, knowledge, and capabilities of the deputies. We understand that each candidate standing for election or nominated is an individual with notable achievements in study and work, who has undergone a long process of dedication and has gained the trust of the people in their localities and workplaces. Therefore, we trust the voters’ choice and hope that those elected will continue to uphold their responsibilities and contribute positively to the country’s development.”

As Viet Nam enters a new era of national rising with aspirations for sustainable development, Vietnamese students abroad increasingly recognise the responsibility of the younger generation for the country’s future. “Although we are studying far from the homeland, we always look towards our country with deep affection, a sense of responsibility, and the desire to contribute our knowledge and youth to the nation’s development in the future,” Yen said.
