The tourists, half of whom are Thais, were treated to an art programme held by the city authorities and then taken to see various scenic spots, buy souvenirs and specialities, and savour Phu Quoc seafood.
The delegation then left Phu Quoc and continued their journey.
According to the border station of Duong Dong Port, Phu Quoc is expected to welcome another cruise ship carrying over 2,100 foreign tourists on February 9.
Local tourism officials said the fact that Phu Quoc welcomes a five-star cruise ship at the beginning of a new year is a positive signal for the local tourism industry, indicating that Phu Quoc remains an appealing destination to foreign tourists.
Currently, Kien Giang Province is stepping up its efforts to promote the image of Phu Quoc and other destinations to domestic and foreign visitors.
